DV is not the only codec that can be used to create a Motion menu, however Many of the nicest Motion Menus around begin life as 2D motion compositions in Adobe After Effects These motion sequences are more typically output using the Animation codec, usually at 100% quality This particular codec outputs a very high-quality source movie, which can be encoded into a very high quality MPEG image This codec also handles text elements much better than the DV codec In most cases, an After Effects motion composition will begin in the same aspect ratio as a Photoshop file namely, 720 540, because of the square pixels on the computer video monitor

5 When you output from After Effects, make sure you are saving in an uncompressed format 6 Resize the animation to 720 480 as you are saving it in After Effects 7 Use a software MPEG-2 encoder (eg, Bitvice, Digigami, Main Concept, Compression Master) to convert the uncompressed file into an MPEG-2 video stream
